In Panama, a kindhearted Samaritan came across a distressed dog in a terrible condition. The poor animal had clearly been severely abused and had a tight rope around its neck, making it difficult for the dog to breathe. The dog was slowly being strangled to death. Upon receiving a report about the dog, the animal welfare organization called “Saving Tails Panama” went out to rescue it. The pitiful pup sat there, waiting for someone to help while struggling to stay alive.
They drove the dog to the hospital where she was immediately put on an IV. Tests confirmed that she was suffering from dehydration, malnutrition, and anemia. In order for her to have any chance of survival, she had to be placed under 24/7 constant monitoring. They named her Esmeralda and she was so thin and weak that every day she opened her eyes was considered a miracle in itself.
After a while, she was finally able to drink water on her own, but progress stopped there. Esmeralda couldn’t fight anymore; she didn’t respond to treatment. She left this earth surrounded by respect and love from the staff at the animal hospital. It’s completely unimaginable how someone could treat a beautiful, innocent creature like this.
